Specializing in the processing of Eastern White Pine, the Matra Group manufactures and distributes window and door components as well as primed siding and trim. Our 2 plants, which boast over 280,000 sq. ft. of production space in total, processes over 30 million board feet of pine each year.

Using our full array of cutting-edge equipment, we process every piece of wood to our customers’ precise specifications. Whether you’re looking for S4S lumber, jointed or solid door jambs, window extension jambs, mouldings, laminated components, cut stock, or components for a specific application, we have the skills and expertise to be your business partner.

Matra acquires the assets of Saint-Georges company Bois Valco and sees its Saint-Martin plant go up in flames. A new 75,000 sq. ft. plant—three times the size of its predecessor and complete with the only equipment of its kind in North America—rises from the ashes.

Matra acquires the assets of Bois Ouvré Beauceville and Séchoirs de Beauce, both known for their expertise and high-quality products. The company becomes a key player in the processing of white pine in Canada and the United States.

The Saint-Martin plant expands to 135,000 sq. ft. in response to customers’ growing needs. The production of pellets for heating and animal bedding becomes an integral part of its manufacturing processes. Major investments are also made at the Saint-Georges and Beauceville plants.
